Welcome back to my work experience blog.
I was excited to get back to work experience after half term which shows how much I’m enjoying the whole experience. After each half term Mrs Smith changes year group and sport. So, during this half term we have year 3 for fundamental skills. During this session we did the basics of throwing and catching. In the session I helped individuals that were struggling, and I was specifically put with one girl who really struggles with function skills such as hand and eye coordination. During the session I coached her the technique once again and gave her instructions on how to improve. By the end of the session she was able to throw and catch a lot better than at the start. This is evidence that I coached her successfully.

During lunch I was then able to question Mrs Smith about the current courses that I could do to make myself stand out as a coach. She advised that I got a level 2 in a certain sport and do as many additional coaching qualifications as possible. She also invited me to go to a PE conference in July for extra experience which will be very beneficial for me as a coach.
In the afternoon we did a fundamental assessment of the year 2’s. During this session I helped set up and demonstrate. This session I didn’t do much coaching as it was the first week of a new topic and the assessment had to take place first.
We then did fitness like normal. This involved the whole of KS2 and we did different exercises outside. At one point a girl was really struggling so I made the exercise easier for her by just telling her to do her arms rather than her whole body. This made the exercise achievable for her and this allowed her to enjoy the activity again.
