Learning objectives:
- Becoming more confident when delivering sessions.
- Delivering small parts of the session/ teaching to small groups or individuals.
- Develop my own knowledge of starting your own company and what it involves.
- To improve my problem-solving skills during sessions that don’t go to plan
Overview I believe both placements have been very beneficial for me. I believe I have achieved all the learning outcomes at Phyizikidz as I was able to deliver my own sessions to a large group of children. However I wasn’t given this opportunity at ESPE to deliver a full session to the whole class. I still believe I need to develop my confidence when delivering a full session but by doing these work placements I have developed my confidence levels further. During both placements I was able to deliver small parts of the session and teach small groups and individuals. I definitely believe I have achieved this learning outcome because I can now do this confidently and successfully.
Regarding learning outcome 3 I believe I have developed my overall knowledge of the type of business I would like to go into. However if I was to reflect on my overall experience I would ask Mrs Smith more questions on how she got her business up and running. I’ve definitely got a clearer understanding of the overall job role relating to both practical and theory so this is evidence that I have worked towards achieving L.O. 3. By participating in both placements I also believe I have achieved my last learning objective of improving my problem solving skills. Both placements challenged me as a coach and I am now able to act confidently and quickly when a problem occurs. This is evidence that this L.O. has been achieved too.
Overall I have really enjoyed my time on work experience and it has definitely made me realise it is still something I want to continue doing.
